Dobrota, a small fishing village nestled in the Bay of Kotor in Montenegro, has a rich and exciting history that dates back deeply into the past. During the Middle Ages, it was under the rule of the Republic of Venice, which left its Venetian-style mark on the architecture and culture of this area. In the 19th century, Dobrota experienced a boom thanks to trade and maritime activities. Many palaces and villas from that period still grace the coast of Kindness today, and the wealth and reputation that once characterized this place can still be recognized in the local buildings. Throughout the 20th century, Dobrota continued to develop as a popular tourist destination, attracting visitors with its beauty and charm, excellent position in the bay, and proximity to cities like Kotor and Herceg Novi.

One of them is the Tripković Palace, which, with its beauty, represents one of the most impressive captain’s villas of the Bay of Kotor. Modeled after the Tripković Palace, our hotel was built with its first frames set as early as the late 18th century.

Hotel Sara travels through generations as a valuable part of the family heritage. She is passed down from knee to knee, resisting various challenges, including one earthquake. Despite everything, it remains in the family’s ownership to which it has always belonged. Like most buildings in Dobrota, Hotel Sara is built of the finest Korčula stone, and its authentic exterior was not allowed to be altered, not even during the renovation after the major earthquake that struck Montenegro in 1979. From the shore, where there is a pontoon with sunbeds and umbrellas for our guests, the hotel is separated by a small, lightly trafficked street. Although keeping pace with the modern age, Hotel Sara strives to preserve the tradition of good service and hospitality, and a stay at our hotel will be a true serenity for all your senses.
